Jessie Kane's life has been turned upside down.

She's learned something: she can't trust anyone anymore.  She finds herself running from two armies, her best friend, and her own demons.  It's a race against the clock and a fight for survival.

Ms.
Caldwell takes us to a world so unlike ours, but so similar at the same time.  VEILED IN HUMAN FLESH is an
interesting take on the battles of good vs. evil.  Lines are drawn, boundaries are crossed, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole ride.  Her world building was solid, yet she still managed to use so much of today's America - Hollywood
included.

This was definitely a fast-paced and entertaining read.

Review of "Veiled in Human Flesh"

By Jamie Caldwell

It is easy to see from the very first page that Jamie Caldwell takes her craft seriously.

"Veiled in Human Flesh" takes the reader into another dimension, where spiritual beings, cloaked in human flesh, are getting ready for the final battle on earth, the war between good and evil.

After Jessie Kane's whole company is wiped out, except for herself and her friend Hunter, she decides that both sides are evil.

The reader is then plunged into a wild ride that brings into play all of the human senses, as Jessie tries to escape both armies, her friend Hunter, whom she no longer trusts, and countless other spiritual beings, not knowing if they are friend or foe.

"Veiled in Human Flesh" is a story that is fast paced, suspenseful, and very well written. I believe Jamie Caldwell is a writer who takes pride in her work, and she will continue to strive for perfection as she puts pen to paper. I recommend her book to anyone looking for an exciting read.

What if the lines between good and evil were blurred beyond recognition? Jessie Kane isn't sure that those lines even exist, and, if they do, she is definitely on the side of evil. Or is she?

Unforeseen circumstances allow Jessie to choose her own path. Although her choices lead her into great danger, Jessie finds herself moving down a path different than anything she'd ever imagined. Fear, hatred, and even love overwhelm the unsuspecting heroine, but she never gives up. Jessie is more human than even she could ever imagine.

Jamie Caldwell has taken the classic story of Good Versus Evil and put her own unique spin on it with her novel Veiled In Human Flesh. Caldwell's descriptions are spectacular, nail-biting episodes that create a true page-turner. Even at the end, I found myself wishing for more.

Jessie Kane is not happy with her life in Rakdan City. The only thing left to do is join her people's army, the Baphomian's, where she can experience life as a human on Earth. After joining she finds herself thrown into an intense colossal battle. It is after her Military Company is engaged in a fatal attack from the Lamashtu, who is an old enemy, that she and her best friend, Hunter Kane, run out of bullets and duck into a closet to avoid the enemy. After overhearing an interrogation and seeing someone killed while in hiding, she and Hunter speedily get away once they are given the chance. They hop on a train bound for Hollywood, California, a place that Jessie would rather not go.

There she encounters a young teen, Scott Dillion, and they become friends. Scott has his own problems with the death of his mother and living at home with a dad who doesn't seem to care that his mom is dead, or perhaps he is suffering his own way. With Scott pressuring her for answers about her true identity, it is only a matter of time before she confesses everything to him. She has fallen in love with him and owes him that much.

Veiled in Human Flesh is non-stop action from the beginning until the dramatic ending. With in-depth characters and terrific dialogue this story moves along at a great pace. One cannot help but wonder has Jessie finally discovered happiness once she meets Scott? The reader gets a whole visualization of the setting. Jessie character is strong spirited and driven. Jamie Caldwell has composed a knock out piece of work. I felt as if I was next to Jessie when she prayed for Scott's life. This story, with its remarkable plot and unexpected twist, had me on the edge of my seat and when I was done, I said, not now, give me more. The clincher will keep you in suspense. Jamie Caldwell has written a story that truly fascinates.
